If Not Now: George Kormendi/Tony Melone duets
Guitarist George Kormendi and pianist Tony Melone recently discovered that they both have a stack of lovely original tunes that have hardly seen daylight, and a shared interest in performing classic and underappreciated jazz repertoire.
In the course of a few weeks of rehearsal and recording, they've also found much common ground in their playing, particularly in their appreciation of subtle harmonic details, and in their preference for fewer notes and more feeling. Their appearance at Caffe Vivaldi marks the maiden voyage of what will hopefully be a long and fruitful collaboration. If not now, then when?

Laura Furci
Italy's gift to New York and the World!
Italy has given us legendary pianists such as Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli and Maurizio Pollinii. Rarely, however, a virtuoso classical Italian musician has crossed over to song writing, singing and bringing to piano playing flavors raging from Andalusia to the American Jazz. Laura Furci is one such exception.
